Recordcup - Ranking method

When you play with Recordcup, you may find two different result between contests :

Quantification and non-quantification.

What is quantification ? For example, the tallest man, tallest woman, fastest 400m male athlete...

that can be counted and gave an accurate number to judgment contest rank.

In quantification contest, you can pick your favorite candidate but it will not influence contest rank. The result will sort by real record. You can find knowledge and likes / dislikes trend in this contest.

What is non-quantification ? For example, best Michael Jordan slam dunk ever, most dangerous job, the most sexy bikini... that judged by people's impression or reaction.

So in non-quantification contest, your pick will influence contest result. The more you pick means candidate get more cups.

What are you waiting for ? Play now!!

We're back!

Okay ladies and gentleman, we're proud to be back!

After about 6 hours of "morphing", we are back to business again. The upgrade is smoother than we thought.

In the new version, we've made some changes and added some new features:

1. V.S channel : We separated every contests and group them to V.S mode, which helps the user to choose real "better one". Our system will apply the scoring according to what the user picks.

2. Image support: We promised it, now it's here. Now you can upload images freely and easily. And it serves just as good as a video clip. Sometimes a picture is more convictive than a film.

3. Tally rule : We adjusted tally rule, every contest had it's summary score(cups). The more candidates represent more cups. Winner takes all cups will be used in our new mode.

4. New search interface : We know the original search just isn't good enough. So we rolled out a completely rewritten search engine, returning better search results, along with an improved search interface! You can search to find more out of Recordcup now.

5. Statistics members favorite : We pop up every contest's No.1 and statistic members favorite. Let user know what is different between his/her choice.

We hope you liked the new Recordcup just as we did. Feel free to check out the new version! If you have any feedback, please let us know.

Let's crack some more World Records on Recordcup again!!

The Best Counter-Strike Player

Who is the best Counter-Strike player? Who did the best play?

Counter-Strike is a FPS game with quite some time now. It was once so popular that some players even went professional and made a living. But there's one debate that never stopped: Who's the best?

Some say it's HeatoN. And some say he's out of fashion. There are lots of new stars every year and it's hard to tell. But it might be easier to decide what 'play' is performed best. Which demo or POV is great? Is it KSharp? Or is it fRoD?

Tell how you think by votes & submit your videos at Recordcup.

World Records, You Decide!

We have been working around for a bit during the past few weeks, and rolled out our new version of Recordcup today. You can now import videos from YouTube, MySpace, or Google video. What's more, you can vote to decide who's the best winner in the record. And you can even get a nice looking badge like this one below for any item on Recordcup!

Take makoto's push ups for example. How do you think? Is he good enough? He's currently the 1st place winner with 2 members agreeing him. Challenge for this title, or vote to express your thoughts!

Upload a video and see your rank in world records!

We coded. We debugged. We started testing. And now we launched!

Recordcup - World Records for Everyone

This is what we promised: a site of World Records, for everyone in the world. Anybody can setup a world record, or challenge any existing record by submitting his video challenge. You don't have to wait for some big guy at Guinness World Records to come and testify what you've done: the internet is your audience. What's more, you don't even have to register another user id on Recordcup! You can sign in with your OpenID, or sign up if you don't have one already.

Try it out. Or maybe you can start by doing push-ups or playing the basketball machine. I'm saying this again: Maybe you're going to be the next world champion next door.

[Note] We're still in the early stage, so if some stuff didn't work out as you think, please feel free to contact us at our feedback page. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Is He/She Really the Best?!

Remember those times when you see 'American Idol' and wonder if she's really the best? When you see Takeru Kobayashi eating hotdogs and exclaimed, "Is he human???", does it ever come to you that maybe he's not the best hotdog-eater in the world, but just the best to attend Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest? Did you ever imagine if it's possible for 2 different players to compete against each other, regardless of restrictions on time and space, sort of like Rocky competing with Mason?

Well, here's the chance. We're developing a record hosting platform for you to prove that you ARE better. Users are required to record a video clip to identify that they really did what they claimed, and internet users will decide if the record is trustworthy. Users from different countries, different timezones can now compete together without problems. Under their own terms. You decide the title, others challenge for the crown. Who's the champion? You never know. Maybe the winner is your friend Bob right now, and next minute it might be Sarah from New Jersey.

So have fun playing Recordcup and submitting your own stuff. See if you can eat more hotdogs than Takeru Kobayashi. Or maybe you can jump higher than Michael Jordan. Who knows? Maybe you're the next world champion next door.
